OmicSpace Showcased at IBM Cloud Event as a Model of Digital Transformation in Healthcare

On June 5, the event “IBM Cloud: The Trusted Cloud for the Public Sector” brought together experts to discuss the challenges and opportunities of adopting cloud technologies in public administration.
During the event, the OmicSpace project, led by the La Fe Health Research Institute (IIS La Fe), was presented as a pioneering platform advancing the use of data spaces in the healthcare sector.
The session highlighted the collaboration between IIS La Fe and GMV, with the support of IBM, to develop a technology that ensures the ethical and secure exchange of health data. The initiative is aligned with the European Data Strategy, the Data Act, and the Data Governance Regulations.
María Eugenia Gas, Principal Investigator of the project and Coordinator of the Big Data, AI, Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Platform at IIS La Fe, presented OmicSpace as a success story within IBM Cloud in Spain. She was joined by Rubén Villoria, Head of Private Evidence and Health Security at GMV, and Rafael Fernández, Data & AI Architect at IBM.
The OmicSpace project was presented as a platform that represents significant progress in the use of data spaces in the healthcare domain.
