OmicSpace Recognized as a Milestone at the 2025 Scientific Event of IIS La Fe

The OmicSpace project was recognized as one of the major milestones of 2024 during the 2025 Scientific Event of the La Fe Health Research Institute (IIS La Fe).

Held on June 11, the event took place under the theme “From the Foundations to the Present: 15 Years of IIS La Fe”, marking the fifteenth anniversary of the institute’s accreditation as a health research center by the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII). 

The event was inaugurated by Marciano Gómez, Regional Minister of Health of the Generalitat Valenciana, who emphasized the Generalitat’s commitment to health research as a driver for improving equity and stability for public sector research professionals.” 

In this celebratory context, Pilar Nos, Scientific Director of IIS La Fe, presented the institute’s key research milestones from 2024. Among them, OmicSpace was highlighted as a strategic flagship project, born from the collaborative models promoted by IIS La Fe. The initiative aims to transform the biomedical research landscape through the creation of a federated platform for multimodal data. 

Funded by the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Administration, OmicSpace was recognized for its scientific and technological significance. Aligned with international initiatives such as the European Health Data Space (EHDS), the project strengthens both national and international collaboration by enabling secure and efficient global cooperation in health data usage.
