OmicSpace holds its Kick-Off Meeting

The La Fe Health Research Institute (IIS La Fe) hosted the kick-off meeting of the OmicSpace project on September 24. This initiative is funded by the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Public Function through project TSI-100121-2024-0068, supported by European funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, and financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.

During the session, members of the consortium presented the project’s main pillars, including the federated architecture and the status of node deployment, the data catalog and standards (HealthDCAT-AP), as well as key aspects such as the proposal for the integration and standardization of genomic data.

The session began with a welcome by Mª Eugenia Gas, project coordinator, followed by key presentations covering administrative aspects, technical architecture, data standards, governance, integration of biobank records and genomic data, as well as the first use case in pharmacogenetics.

The meeting also addressed the project’s internal and external communication strategies and presented the “Data Spaces Kit” call — an essential tool to facilitate the incorporation of new participating nodes into data spaces such as OmicSpace. The session provided an opportunity for representatives from the various institutions involved in the project to exchange ideas, marking the beginning of a collaborative shared data ecosystem aimed at driving innovation in health.

OmicSpace celebra su Kick-Off Meeting
