OmicSpace expands its ecosystem with the incorporation of new healthcare institutions, technology entities, and patient associations
The project continues to move forward in its mission to build a robust, secure, and sustainable data space, expanding its collaborative network with the incorporation of new nodes in Spain and Portugal. This new phase of growth strengthens its role as a strategic infrastructure for the management and secure exchange of omics, clinical, and biobank data.
Among the new nodes are healthcare and research institutions such as Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, the Murcian Institute for Biosanitary Research Pascual Parrilla (IMIB), and Promptly Health; technology centers such as Smart Health TV Solution and Smartcare DRD Tech Factory; the Andalusian Confederation of Alzheimer’s and Other Dementias (ConFEAFA), as well as a wide range of patient and family associations linked to Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
The incorporation of these new nodes strengthens the OmicSpace ecosystem, significantly expanding the richness and representativeness of its data catalog. This increases its capacity to integrate and harmonize heterogeneous data and facilitates its use for research purposes, clinical trials, and personalized medicine strategies.
This new milestone reaffirms OmicSpace’s commitment to building a federated data space based on collaboration, interoperability, and the highest security guarantees. The expansion of its network consolidates its role as a strategic infrastructure to drive biomedical research, foster the development of innovative solutions, and advance towards more precise, efficient, and patient-centered medicine.

OmicSpace emerges as a strategic initiative aimed at promoting the advanced and secure use of health data for research and innovation in healthcare. Led by the La Fe Health Research Institute (IIS La Fe) as the coordinating node, and structured through seven strategic nodes across six autonomous communities and one European foundation, the project expands its ecosystem with the addition of more than twenty entities.
